M onochromatic birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, glimmer paper, and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Lost Lagoon Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of ombre blue/green stripes design from Bright & Beautiful 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the stripes are horizontal on the vertical rectangle
- 2-3/4" x 4" of Lost Lagoon shimmer paper from Soft Shimmer 12" x 12" Paper Combo Pack
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
DO THIS STEP FIRST!
Cut two 3-1/2" pieces of the Silver & White 1/2" Sheer Ribbon. Lay both pieces of ribbon on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Use the side of the brush tip of the Dark Lost Lagoon Stampin' Blends to color the ribbon pieces until you have the color coverage you want. Set aside to allow to dry.
Mount the large spray of leaves image from the Translucent Florals Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp it all around the edges of the Bright & Beautiful Designer Paper rectangle. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the paper. Leave the stamp on the block.
Adhere the stamped designer paper rectangle to the front of the Lost Lagoon card so the darker stripes are at the bottom.
Re-ink the large spray of leaves image on Block E with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp it at the top of the vertical white rectangle so the stem goes off the edge in the top right corner.
Mount the "happy birthday" sentiment from the Translucent Florals Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the bottom of the vertical white rectangle.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle to the center of the Lost Lagoon shimmer paper rectangle.
If the ribbon is dry, proceed. Lay one piece of the colored ribbon across the matted cardstock/shimmer paper rectangle so it is roughly centered between the bottom of the leaves and the top of the sentiment. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the shimmer paper rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the card so it is centered.
Slide one end of the other piece of colored ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front. Tie in place with a half knot on the left side. Trim the ends.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 5 large and small Pretty Peacock pearls from the sheet of Blooming Pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly to the front of the card as shown on the white rectangle.
