Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- 7-1/4" square of olive and navy plaid design from Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper
- 3" square from Night of Navy Cardstock
- 3" square from Old Olive Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 1-1/4" x 1-3/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 1-1/4" x 1-3/4" from Early Espresso Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 1-3/4" from Night of Navy Cardstock
- 3 pieces each 1-1/8" x1-5/8" from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
- 2" x 2-1/2" from Old Olive Cardstock
Follow the directions printed on the Envelope Punch Board for making an envelope that will hold a 3-1/2" x 5" card from the 7-1/4" square of Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper.
Use the corner rounder punch on the Envelope Punch Board to round the tips of the two large flaps.
Fold the envelope closed.
Tip: You can use the scoring tool from the Envelope Punch Board like a Bone Folder to get sharp fold lines.
Use small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive to hold the ends of three of the flaps together to make the envelope. Make sure you leave the top flap unstuck so the envelope can be opened and closed! Make sure the adhesive pieces you use are small so they don't extend past where the flaps overlap.
Cut a 19" piece of the Night of Navy Medium Baker's Twine.
Lay the twine across the center of the front of the envelope so the ends are even on each side. Use a small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive to hold the twine in place in the center of the envelope. Leave the protective backing in place.
Pick out the square framelit from the Layering Squares Framelits that cuts out a 2-5/8" square. Place the Night of Navy square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the square framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Pick out the square framelit from the Layering Squares Framelits that cuts out a 2-3/8" square. Place the Old Olive square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the square framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Pick out the short, skinny pine bough thinlit from the Pretty Pines Thinlits. Build the following sandwich in this order on top of the Big Shot:
- Big Shot Platform with Thin Die Adapter removed
- white Impressions Pad from Big Shot Embossing Mats
- thin dark blue silicone rubber mat from Big Shot Embossing Mats
- Old Olive square
- pine bough thinlit with cutting side down so the top tip is pointing up and the thinlit is centered
- clear Standard Cutting Pad
Run the sandwich through the Big Shot a couple of times.
Repeat the step above using the same sandwich, but with the thinlit on one side of the previously embossed pine bough at a slightly overlapping angle.
Repeat again using the same sandwich, but with the thinlit on the other side of the previously embossed pine bough at a slightly overlapping angle.
Adhere the dry embossed Old Olive square to the Night of Navy square.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the matted, dry embossed squares to the center of the front of the envelope so they form a diamond. Make sure the ends of the pine boughs are on the lower left side of the diamond.
Pick out the large, open pine cone framelit from the Pretty Pines Thinlits. Place one of the Crumb Cake rectangles on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the open pine cone framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Repeat with the other Crumb Cake rectangle.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of a 1-1/8" x 1-5/8" piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and adhere the adhesive sheet to one side of one of the Early Espresso rectangles. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the piece of Early Espresso Cardstock on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (Early Espresso facing up).
Pick out one of the large detailed pine cone thinlits from the Pretty Pines Thinlits. Place it on top of the Early Espresso Cardstock on the Big Shot. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the pieces.
Peel the protective backing off of the detailed pine cone cut out and adhere it to the top of the Crumb Cake pine cone cut out.
Repeat the above steps with the other Early Espresso rectangle and another one of the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet pieces and a different detailed pine cone thinlit. Adhere this cut out to the other Crumb Cake pine cone cut out.
Use SNAIL and Stampin' Dimensionals on the ends to adhere the layered pine cones to the front of the envelope so they overlap each other and the bottoms of the dry embossed pine boughs on the lower left side of the pine boughs diamond.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on the final 1-1/8" x 1-5/8" piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and adhere the adhesive sheet to one side of the Night of Navy rectangle. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the piece of Night of Navy Cardstock on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (Night of Navy facing up).
Pick out the smaller bow thinlit from the Pretty Pines Thinlits. Place it on top of the Night of Navy Cardstock on the Big Shot. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the pieces.
Peel the protective backing off of the bow cut out and adhere it to the top of the pine cones on the front of the envelope.
Mount the Tags & Tidings stamp on Block F. Place the mounted stamp on Grid Paper on your work surface so the stamp is facing up. Ink up the center of the stamp with the "No Peeking" oval tag with the Night of Navy Ink Pad by rubbing or pouncing the pad on the stamp. Leave the inked up stamp laying on your work surface inky stamp side up. Place the Old Olive rectangle on the top of the inky stamp over the "No Peeking" oval tag. Fold the Grid Paper over the stamp and rub firmly all over. Unfold the Grid Paper and carefully remove the cardstock from the background stamp.
Place the stamped Old Olive rectangle on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the Christmas Tags Thinlits on top so the large oval tag near the center is centered over the stamped "No Peeking" oval tag image. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Tip: Make sure none of the thinlit hangs over the edges of the platform or it will catch on the sides of the Big Shot which could damage your thinlit or Big Shot or both.
Insert the gift certificate into the envelope and fold the flap closed.
Thread the tag onto one end of the Medium Baker's Twine and then tie the twine in a small bow to hold the envelope closed and the tag in place.
