Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, Window Sheets, Foil Sheets, designer paper, and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Call Me Clover Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pineapple Punch Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Pacific Point Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-7/8" of dark and light green stripes pattern from 2018-2020 In Color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the stripes are vertical when the paper is horizontal
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Window Sheets
- 3/4" x 2" from Silver Foil Sheets
- 1-3/4" x 2" from Silver Foil Sheets
- 1-5/8" x 1-7/8" from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
- scrap of Pineapple Punch Cardstock at least 1-1/2" wide
- 1" x 6" from Whisper White Cardstock
- scraps of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
As you are ready to stamp using the Jar of Love Set, place the cardstock or Window Sheet on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the large jar image from the Jar of Love Set on Block D. Ink it up with the StazOn Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Window Sheet. Set it aside to let it dry.
Insert the Pacific Point rectangle into the Sparkle Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the card stock inside on a Cutting Pad on the Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the strip of Call Me Clover Designer Paper to the bottom of the dry embossed Pacific Point rectangle.
Adhere the dry embossed Pacific Point/designer paper rectangle to the large Pineapple Punch rectangle.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of Call Me Clover 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the matted Pacific Point/designer paper rectangle so it covers the seam between the two pieces. Flip the cardstock over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add more SNAIL to the back of the Pineapple Punch cardstock. Adhere it to the front of the Call Me Clover card.
Pick out the jar lid die from the Everyday Jars Dies. Place the small strip of Silver Foil Sheets on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot with the silver side facing up. Place the jar lid die on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of the large Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet rectangle and adhere the adhesive sheet to the white side of the large Silver Foil Sheet rectangle. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the piece of Silver Foil Sheet on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (Silver Foil facing up).
Pick out the wire jar closure die from the Everyday Jars Dies. Place it on top of the Silver Foil Sheet on the Big Shot. Place a piece of scratch paper on top. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the pieces. Use the wire jar closure cut out on this project. Keep the large piece cut from the center to use on a future project.
Tip: Placing a piece of scratch paper on top of the foil and die will help protect the foil so it doesn't pick up any scratches from the Cutting Pad.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Jar of Love Set on an appropriately sized block. Ink it up with the Call Me Clover Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the scrap of Pineapple Punch Cardstock.
Unlock the 1-1/4" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch. Get the sentiment centered in the punching area (you may cut off the very ends of the letters). Punch.
Pick out the large jar die from the Everyday Jars Dies. Place the dry, large stamped jar image on the Window Sheet on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the large jar die on top so it is centered over the stamped jar image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Mount the firefly (lightning bug) image from the Jar of Love Set on Block A. Ink it up with the StazOn Ink Pad. Stamp it five times across the strip of white cardstock. Leave room between each image to cut them out with the matching die in a later step. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Pick out the matching firefly (lightning bug) die from the Everyday Jars Dies. Place the strip of stamped bug images on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the firefly die on top so it is centered over one of the stamped bug images. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Repeat until you have cut out all five of the bugs.
Place four of the bugs on Grid Paper and color them using the markers. I used:
- Pineapple Punch on the bottom of the bug's body as the glowing portion.
- Call Me Clover on the rest of the body.
- Coastal Cabana inside the wings.
- Pacific Point around the edge of the bug covering all of the white space.
Leave the fifth bug uncolored for now.
Use the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add sparkle to the yellow portion of the body and the wings of each of the four colored bugs.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of a scrap or scraps of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets. One at a time, carefully press three of the colored and shimmered bugs to the exposed adhesive and peel them back off. Adhere them to the BACK side of the Window Sheet jar cut out at least 1/2" from the bottom.
Put Mini Glue Dots on the BACK of each of the three bugs adhered to the Window Sheet jar cut out. Adhere the jar cut out to the front of the card in the center so about 1/2" of the bottom overlaps the ribbon and designer paper.
Put a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of the jar lid cut out. Remove the protective backing and adhere the jar lid cut out to the top of the jar cut out on the card front.
Remove the protective backing from the wire jar closure cut out. Adhere it to the top of the jar on the card front so it is centered across the jar lid cut out.
Adhere the circle sentiment punch out to the card front so it appears to be hanging off the side of the jar lid.
Cut an 8" piece of Call Me Clover 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon.
Tie a small bow in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon bow to the top of the sentiment circle punch out.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the fourth colored and shimmered bug cut out to the side of the jar opposite the sentiment circle near the top.
WITHOUT adhering, place the fifth, uncolored bug cut out on the card front so it overlaps part of the sentiment circle. Get an idea for where the bug cut out overlaps the sentiment circle.
Remove the bug cut out and place it on Grid Paper. Use the markers and Wink of Stella Glitter Brush as before to color and add shimmer to the bug, but use the Pineapple Punch Marker and Pacific Point Marker along the outside edges to color all the white spaces so that the colors will match the cardstock underneath when you place the cut out back on the card front.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the final colored and shimmered bug cut out to the card front so it overlaps the sentiment circle a bit. Line up the colored edges of the bug cut out so they match the color of cardstock underneath.
