A ltered plastic candy box using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" of dotted Granny Apple Green ombre design from Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper
- 2" x 3" of plain Bermuda Bay ombre design from Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper
You will also need a 6" square of plain Bermuda Bay ombre design from Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper, but it is already the correct size.
Place the paper insert from the candy box on the back side of a 6" square piece of plain Bermuda Bay ombre design from Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper. Trace around the paper insert using a pen or pencil.
Cut out the heart shape just inside the traced line using Paper Snips.
Use a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive in the center of the heart cut out to adhere the heart cut out to the inside of the candy box lid. You can also put a line of Stampin' Seal around the edges of the heart cut out if you wish.
Fill the candy box with treats and put the lid on.
Pick out the notched rectangle label die from the Fluttering Dies. Put it on top of the dotted green ombre rectangle of designer paper on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
As you are ready to stamp using the Floating & Fluttering Set and Make A Difference Set, place the designer paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
One at a time, mount the letters you need to spell out a word from the Make A Difference Set on Block A. Ink them up with the Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad and stamp them just below the center line in the center of the designer paper label cut out to spell out your word.
If you prefer, you can mount all the letters on a larger block at the same time so you can ink them up once and stamp once. Just remember to spell things out backwards on the block so it stamps properly when you turn the block over to stamp with it. I recommend test stamping on Grid Paper first to make sure everything is correct before stamping on the designer paper.
Tip: If you have trouble finding the right letters, try inking up the entire sheet of stamps and stamping onto a piece of white or vanilla cardstock. Use this as a reference to help you find the letter you want to use. Keep the stamped sheet image in the case with the stamp set to use on future projects as well.
Cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon long enough to lay diagonally across the lid of the box as shown. Adhere it in place with a small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape holding the ribbon in place and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the stamped label cut out. Adhere the label cut out to the center of the lid so it covers the center of the ribbon.
Mount the large grouping of different butterflies and leaves image from the Floating & Fluttering Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad. Stamp it on the piece of plain Bermuda Bay ombre designer paper so you get the large butterfly with wings open in the center of the image and the smaller, half butterfly on the edge of the image.
Pick out the single, matching, open, large butterfly with open wings die from the Fluttering Dies. Put it on top of the stamped designer paper on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the large butterfly with open wings image. Run through the machine.
Pick out the single, matching, half butterfly die from the Fluttering Dies. Put it on top of the stamped designer paper on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the half butterfly image. Run through the machine.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the butterfly cut outs to the box lid so they overlap the label cut out as shown.
Carefully punch a leafy stem piece from a sheet of In Good Taste Elements.
Use the brush tip of the Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to color the top of the leafy element.
Use Mini Glue Dots to adhere the colored leafy element to the top of the box lid so the bottom of the stem is tucked under the top of the half butterfly cut out as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 different sizes of Rich Razzleberry sequins from a sheet of Artistry Blooms Sequins making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the label cut out as shown.
