F un birthday card using the masking technique and retiring Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Berry Burst Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Blackberry Bliss Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2" x 2-1/2" from Berry Burst Cardstock
Insert the large Blackberry Bliss rectangle into the Scattered Sequins 3D Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the paper inside directly on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
VERY IMPORTANT: You are using only ONE Cutting Pad. If you try to use two, the sandwich will be too thick and you could damage the Big Shot.
Adhere the dry embossed Blackberry Bliss rectangle to the front of the Berry Burst card.
Mount the "happy birthday" sentiment from the Better Together Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Pad. Stamp it on the top of the white rectangle.
Mount the party hat image from the Better Together Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the bottom of the white rectangle. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the party hat image with the Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad. Stamp the hat on the top of a Post-It Note so that some of the sticky backing on the Post-It Note is behind the stamped image. Clean the stamp using the Simply Shammy or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub, but leave the stamp on the block.
Cut out the party hat image on the Post-It Note by hand using Paper Snips. Cut just inside the stamped lines. Just cut the pompom at the top of the hat off.
Place the Post-It Note party hat cut out over the top of the stamped party hat on the white rectangle.
Ink up the party hat image with the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Pad. Stamp it on either side of the Post-It Note party hat so it overlaps just a bit. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Clean the stamp and put it away.
Remove the Post-It Note party hat. Put it in the box with the stamp set to use on future projects or throw it away.
Use the Markers to color in the dots on the party hats.
Unlock the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. Slide one short end of the Berry Burst strip into the punch as far as it will go and punch.
Adhere the punched out tag to the back of the stamped and colored white rectangle so it sticks out on the lower left side by about 3/4".
Adhere the stamped and colored white rectangle with tag attached to the front of the card in the center.
Cut a 9" piece of the Lemon Lime Twist 1/4" Ombre Ribbon.
Tie a small bow in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon bow at a slight angle to the top of the tag on the card front.
