M asculine Swap Card using the Mixed Drink Stamp set
|
|
|
This card uses a base of Whisper White Thick cardstock, a layer of Basic Black (5.25 x 4) topped with another layer of Crushed Curry (5 x 3.75). There are two squares of Whisper White and Basic Black, scrap pieces of Whisper White, and using Basic Black archival ink.
I started by stamping the beer mugs on whisper white. I wanted to have the mugs "clinking" so I needed to use a mirror image. There are many ways to make a mirror image (see youtube for various methods). I tried several and was not as successful as I would have liked but they turned out okay. I stamped the mug using the Basic Black ink on a clear block and then turned the block onto the Whisper White cardstock. The image wasn't as detailed as I would have liked so I used a journaling pen to draw in any of the missing details.
Using ink from the lid of the Crushed Curry ink pad, I used a blender pen to color in the beer in the mug. I then took the Wink of Stella pen to add shimmer to the beer foam.
I then fussy cut out the mugs using my paper snips. After cutting out, I took my Basic Black Stampin' Write marker and using the brush end went all around the entire cut-out mug so that white didn't show.
I cut out the squares of white and black using the Stitched Shapes framelits and layered them on the Crushed Curry card front. On the white square I stamped the sentiments.
FYI: Before adhering the squares, determine where you want the sentiments to be and stamp them first.
After adhering the squares I put a piece of Burlap ribbon across the front. Using dimensionals, I put the mugs facing each other and "clinking"
The inside of the card can then be used for any sentiment: Happy birthday, Happy Father's Day, Happy Retirement, Congratulations, etc.
