Project Recipe
Cutting Measurements
Card base - 8 1/2" x 5", scored at 4 1/4"
Front panel - 4 3/4" x 4 1/8"
Port Hole - 3" x 6"
Scene - 3" x 3"
Add "splatters" to the front card panel by stamping randomly several times on the card panel before re-inking the stamp, using the same color ink as the cardstock you used for the front panel and the splatter stamp from the Swirly Bird Stamp set.
Stamp the waterlines onto the card front panel, using the matching ink color and the waterline stamp from the Lilypad Lake Stamp set.
Using the Big Shot and the 2 3/4" Layering Circle Framelits die, cut out the base of the porthole from either cardstock or Designer Series Paper.
The "water" was made by coloring a 4" long section of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper, using Old Olive, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party Stampin' Blends. I then ran this through my Big Shot using the Waterline Framelits die from the Lakeside Framelits dies that coordinates with the Lilypad Lake Stamp set.
Once the glimmer paper was cut by the framelits die, I then separated a few of the "waves" from the section and adhered them randomly onto the lower 2/3 of a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Tranquil Textures DSP that had been also cut out with the 2 3/4" Layering Circle die and the Big Shot.
On the other card, I adhered the colored glimmer paper to the lower 2/3 piece of Whisper White cardstock that had been cut out with the 2 3/4" Layering Circle die and the Big Shot.
Using the Big Shot and the Layering Circles Framelits dies cut out the front of the porthole, by centering the 2 1/8" circle die in the middle of the 2 3/4" circle die.
Place Pearl Basic Jewels around this front section of the porthole at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. Next add a jewel in-between each of the jewels for a total of 8 jewels.
Adhere the porthole front panel to the porthole base panel using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Stamp the sailboats from the Lilypad Lake stamp set onto Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
Color the sailboats.
Cut out the sailboats using the coordinating die from the Lakeside Framelits dies and the Big Shot.
Adhere the sailboats onto the center of the porthole.
Adhere the porthole onto the upper right quadrant of the card front.
Tie medium weight Baker's twine into a square knot and then wrap the Baker's Twine around the card front, centering the square knot in front of the porthole. Secure the loose twine ends to the back of the card front with adhesive.
Adhere the card front to the card base either with dimensionals or adhesive.
Using the banner dies from the Lakeside Framelits dies and the Big Shot cut out the two banners in coordinating colors.
Stamp the sentiment onto the smaller of the two banners and then adhere it onto the front of the larger banner.
Adhere the entire banner onto the card front below the porthole and slightly to the left with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Cut out two pieces of "grass" from the Lakeside Framelits dies, cut one grass piece out of Old Olive cardstock and the other out of Pear Pizzazz cardstock.
Adhere the Old Olive grass piece behind the twine on the lower left hand side of the porthole, hiding the bottom of the grass underneath the sentiment banner.
Adhere the Pear Pizzazz grass over the top of the twine, slightly off centered from the Old Olive grass, also hiding the bottom of the grass underneath the sentiment banner.
