Big on Birthdays

I'm involved in a couple of swaps featuring the new In-Colors.  I chose to do a birthday card using Lemon-Lime Twist and Berry Burst.  This was really a very simple card to make using a couple of my favorite techniques:  coloring and heat embossing!  Here is the card I made

Its not easy to see but the entire sentiment is heat embossed.  This uses a technique that allows you to heat emboss with any color.  In fact you could easily get by with only a few embossing powders (clear, white, copper, silver, and gold).  To heat emboss, just ink up your stamp with first Versamark and then the Lemon Lime Twist ink.  Stamp, cover with clear embossing powder and heat set.  Easy peasy!

Here is the inside of the card

In Color Birthday Card

In color swap

I'm involved in a couple of different swaps featuring the new In Colors. This one uses Lemon-Lime Twist and Berry Burst.

Moon Baby Gift Card Holder (May Swap)

For our May swaps, we were to make cards for either baby or wedding/anniversary themes.  I love the Moon Baby Stamp set!  And I always need baby cards so chose to do those.  I decided to make it a gift card holder.  And I really love to watercolor so that was an easy decision!  Here is the card I made

And here is the inside

I did use some of the new In Colors--Lemon-Lime Twist for the baby's sleeper and Powder Pink for the face and cheeks.

Life is going to be extremely hectic over the next few weeks:  I'm getting ready for my catalog premiere launch, BOGO stamp sale of my retired stamps and designer paper, readying catalogs to mail out--these go out automatically to anyone who has purchased from me in the past year.  If you make a purchase, you'll be added to my list too!  Then we go to the beach for a week or so where my daughter is having a wedding ceremony and celebration.  Even though this is a second marriage for her and a much more casual event, I still want to make sure it is super nice for her.  I still have two more swaps to make before we leave for the beach--In Color swaps!  I'll be sharing those cards with you shortly.

Happy Stamping!

Moon Baby Gift card holder (May Swap)

Moon baby swap

For our May swap, the theme was babies or anniversaries. I love this Moon Baby stamp set and decided to use this set again but in a different way.

Eastern Palace Suite Bundles

During the month of May Stampin' Up! is offering an early release for customers to purchase the Eastern Palace Suite bundles.  These bundles will NOT be available after May 31.  The items in the bundles will be available separately but you won't get the savings of the bundles.  There are two different bundles to choose from:

I have set up a Pinterest board with loads of samples of these bundles.  There are cards as well as other items (boxes, bags, and 3-D items!)  There are samples of the many ways the dies can be used so you can see at a glance what they look like.  I am so loving this Eastern Palace Suite!  Here is a sample of the dies (created by Jenny Moors)

Here are a few cards I've made combining the Moroccan Designer Paper with the Eastern Palace.  I love how you can use things from last year's catalog with the new!

And finally, I'd like to share a video made by Stampin' Up! on this suite!

Stampin' Up! has released some new videos on items in the new catalog and I will be featuring them in the future so be on the lookout!

Just a couple of cards

I just wanted to share with you a couple of cards I've created this week.

First, is this one using one of the card bases from the May 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit.  I loved those bases (not so much the orange insert it came with).  For this card, I added an insert of Rich Razzleberry.  The daisy is also stamped in Rich Razzleberry and is punched out using the new, upcoming Daisy punch (143713).  The sentiment is from the Daisy Delight stamp set (143669).  The center of the Daisy uses the Gold Faceted Gems (144141). I am mailing these out as "thank you's" to my customers who ordered from me this month.

Next, I wanted to make a card to share with my fellow colon cancer warriors (I am a 15 year survivor of Stage 3 colon cancer).  My thanks to Patty Bennett, who designed this stamp set (million dollar sellers get to design their own stamp set!), Ribbon of Courage (143855).  I stamped this in Pacific Point, since blue is the color for colon cancer awareness.  I plan to make multiples of this card to take to my former (YAY!) chemotherapy center for them to give out to patients.

I love that we now have a stamp set that can be used for any cancer type!

Thanks for looking!

Happy Stamping!

Delightful Daisy Mother's Day card

I went to bed last night and woke up about 1 am with an idea for a card.  Daisies are my absolute favorite flower (my wedding flowers were all daisies).  Does this happen to you?  It seems that I get my best ideas late at night.  I just had to get up to see if what I envisioned would work.  I didn't make it last night but mistakes were made because I was so tired this afternoon.  Booboos happen all the time and are just another way to be creative in covering them up!  This is not exactly how I imagined it but it is close.  We'll be making a similar card for my Mother's Day card class on May 4.

This card uses a lot of new products which will be available to you on June 1 when the new catalog comes out.  Directions and printable instructions can be found here

I'm pleased with how this card finally turned out.  Enjoy!
