Kerchief Lady Bug Card

For my monthly tutorial co-op (the theme was Sale-a-Bration), I made this card using the Kerchief card kit and the Little Ladybug stamp set.

You can put the Kerchief Card kit cards together as instructed or you can change them up like I did here.

I cut off the front of one of the cards and trimmed it down to fit on a regular A2 (5 1/2" x 4 1/4") basic black card base.

All the cuts:

  • Basic Black: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4" horizontally; 3 3/4" x 2 1/2" for the front label
  • Whisper White: 5 1/4" x 4" for the inside of the card (I always use either white or very vanilla on the insides of my cards.  It dresses them up so.  You can cut it out using the Stitched Rectangle dies and make it look even nicer.
  • Shimmery White: 2" x 3 3/8" for the label and a scrap to stamp the ladybug on.

I stamped the ladybug using Stazon black and then colored with my Stampin' Write markers.  You could also stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black and color with Blends.  I then fussy cut the ladybug.

Next, I cut out the labels using the Stitched Rectangle dies.  I then stamped the sentiment and the small line of ladybugs on the white label, added the ribbon to the front and adhered that white label onto the black label.  A sequin secured by using a little multipurpose glue and the card was done!

You can also add some ladybugs to the inside to dress it up even more.  And don't forget to decorate your envelope!  Give the recipient a hint as to what is inside!

A quick and easy card!
