Balloon Pop-Up Birthday Card

This is a birthday card I made for one of the demonstrators in my downline. It uses products from the new Occasions catalog available January 4th. The impact comes when you open the card!

I started with a base of Pacific Point topped with a piece of Party Animal Designer Series Paper cut to 4"x 5.25".

The sentiment is on a piece of Whisper White cut out with the Stitched Shapes dies squares. I stamped the sentiment from the Balloon Adventures in Pacific Point ink. The confetti was stamped using Crushed Curry. I then layered it on top of a piece of Pacific Point cut out with the largest of the Layering Squares Dies with the scalloped edge.

I took some of the new Emerald Envy 1/8" taffeta ribbon and wrapped it around the entire piece. I tied it (put a glue dot on the bottom loop to hold it to the card to make it easier to tie) first into a knot and added the little balloon from the Party Animal Embellishments before tying into a bow. I then popped up this sentiment section using dimensionals.

The big surprise is when you open the card! I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut to 4 x 8.25 and scored in the middle. You place the Balloon Pop-Up die on that score line and run through the Big Shot.

I stamped the balloons (photopolymer stamps make this so easy!) And on the orange balloon, I used my white gel pen to add a little interest so that it looks like light hitting it. More confetti on the sides and the inside sentiments complete the inside stamping. I then put fast fuse on the edges of the inside piece (make sure you don't put anything where the balloons pop so that they don't stick to the card!) and adhered to the card base.
