Let It Ride Swap Card

Anyone love horses?

Every month (except when I'm too busy or overwhelmed) I'm involved in at least one swap

I'm in two swaps this month and the first one uses anything from the Occasions catalog.  I decided to use Let It Ride

I love to watercolor and thought this would be ideal for that.  I started with a piece of watercolor paper cut to 3 x 4-1/4".  I first stamped the mountains in basic gray using the Waterfront stamp set.  I used a little ink from the cover of the stamp pad to move some of the mountain down so it would reach the trees.

Next, I moved to the trees from Let It Ride.  I stamped some in Mossy Meadow and some in Old Olive.  Let those sit awhile and dry well (I came back later to add a little Old Olive in between the trees to create more of a forest.

The horses came next.  I stamped them in Soft Suede and let them dry well.  I then colored them in with some Crumb Cake ink.

I went back to Old Olive to color in the grass and throughout the trees.  It's important not to use a very wet paintbrush or it will all run.  (if that happens in the trees, just let that dry and go back and stamp the trees again in Mossy Meadow to get more definition).

Last I added some sky using Balmy Blue.

LET DRY WELL!

You could use watercolor pencils or even Stampin' Blends for your coloring too--whatever works best for you.

I mounted the watercolor piece on a piece of Soft Suede cardstock cut to 4 x 5-1/4" using dimensionals.  That piece was then added to the Very Vanilla Thick card base.

I cut a piece of Burlap ribbon at about 3-3/4" long and attached it to the bottom of the watercolor piece.  I then took about 4 inches of Copper trim and spread the ends, attaching it to the Burlap ribbon.

I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it out with the squarish rectangle stitched die.  I then added it to the top of the ribbon using a dimensional at the bottom and snail at the top (since the watercolor piece was raised on dimensionals, I needed the bottom of the sentiment to also be raised.)

Don't forget about the inside of your card!  I stamped the "Live like someone left the gate open" sentiment on the inside and stamped one set of trees in the bottom right corner.

This would make a great birthday card (just change the sentiments) and a super masculine card.

Here are some FAQ's about the SAB Starter kit:

  • You do not get SAB free items with the purchase of the kit.  Join early and then place another order to get rewards PLUS get 20% off your order and all future orders.
  • There is no further obligation after purchasing your kit.  You don't have to hold parties, have classes, do videos or anything else--UNLESS you want to do so!
  • Curious about the minimums needed to remain a Stampin' Up! demonstrator?  It's $300 a quarter (but with your discount, you'd only have to order $240 over that time) and joining during SAB, you'll have until the end of June to meet that minimum!  (The new annual catalog will be available to order in May for demonstrators)
  • Want to earn extra money and make this a business?  You can do that!  Sale-a-Bration is a great time to start your Stampin' Up! business
  • Wondering about what kind of support you'll get?  My upline, Jessica Taylor, (one of the top demonstrators in the world) and I provide all kinds of training and support.  There are videos, FB lives, emails, a demonstrator only FB group, FB groups for Jessica's downline and my downline, and phone support.  You'll be joining a great group who also help provide support.  This is a wonderful way to meet new people and join the Stampin' Up! family.  Stampin' Up! also is a huge resource.
  • With each order placed (whether by you, your friends, your family, or other customers) you earn flex points.  Flex points can be used to purchase free products and purchase the yearly incentive trip.  The trip for 2020 is Maui!  An all-expense paid trip (including airfare) for two.  You also receive 20% on all orders placed with you.

I am so hoping to earn that trip to Maui!

I can't wait to see what this year holds for me and my team.  I would absolutely love to have you join my team and explore all that Stampin' Up! has to offer!

Have more questions?  Please email me at beckysstampingspot@comcast.net and I'd love to chat with you about the possibilities!

Sale-a-Bration is Coming Soon!

Sale-a-Bration arrives January 3.  Do you know how you can get FREE products from the Sale-a-Bration (SAB) brochure?

With every $50 in product that you order you can choose FREE products from the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  So if you placed a $100 order (before taxes and shipping), you'd receive either 2 free Level 1 SAB items or 1 Level 2 item.  A $150 order would net you 3 free items PLUS host benefits of $15.  If you order $250, you'd receive 5 items PLUS host rewards of $25 and during SAB, you receive an additional $25--so you'd get 5 free SAB items PLUS an additional $50 to spend any way you please!  How great is this?  Can't place an order that large by yourself?  Gather some friends and put your orders together to reach that threshold!  I can make it easy for you with your very own host code!

Pre-paid Paper Pumpkin subscriptions are another great way to reach SAB rewards (I do this myself to get more free product!

  • A 3-month prepaid subscription costs $57 and you will get 1 FREE SAB item!
  • A 6-month prepaid subscription costs $108 (you save $1 on each kit) and you'll get 2 FREE SAB items!
  • The best deal is on a 12-month prepaid subscription at $209 (you basically are paying for 11 and getting the 12th kit free) plus you'll receive 4 SAB items.  Add a few small items to that order and you'll reach that $250 threshold to receive the 5 items and $50 in Stampin' Rewards!  Need ideas on what will go well with that order?  How about some different sized clear blocks, a Stampin' Shammy, additional cardstock, the Take Your Pick tool, paper snips, a Stampin' Trimmer?  You just need to add $41 to that order to get to the special SAB rewards!

One very important thing to know about prepaid subscriptions--Stampin' Up! will email you an activation code.  You will need to go to http://bit.ly/PaperPumpkinSubscribe and enter your code after setting up your account (they will ask for a credit card but your card won't be charged since you purchased a prepaid subscription).  Activate your subscription before the 10th of the month and you'll receive that month's kit as your first kit.

New subscribers to Paper Pumpkin get a free clear block in their very first kit.  Thereafter your kits will include everything you need to complete the kit--at least one ink spot, exclusive stamps, die cuts, embellishments, glue dots or dimensionals!  These kits are a great way to create easy products that are already designed for you.  You can, of course, make them any way that you choose.  I get two kits each month so usually make one kit as designed and make alternative projects with the second.  Most kits are card kits but there are some other projects.  Stampin' Up! is now giving us hints so if you think you won't want that month's kit, you can always put your subscription on hold for that month (Don't forget to go back before the 10th of the next month and start it back up).

While there is the new Occasions catalog that starts also on January 3, don't forget that any product you order qualifies (clearance rack, annual catalog, Occasions) for Sale-a-Bration rewards.

Sale-a-Bration ends on March 31 so don't let these FREE products pass you by!
